Food Technologist

We are looking for a Food Technologist in our Research and Development Dept. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of Asian American and American food market knowledge, plus the ability to make Japanese food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Japanese and American language skills preferred. 

 Primary Duties include:

·   Assist in the development of new products to meet company’s or customers’ specifications based upon availability of resources including ingredients, production equipment and other supplies.

·   Determine necessary raw materials, packaging materials, equipment and production processes of new product formulation.

·   Develop recipes, production product control sheets and production method procedures for approval of new product formulations.

·   Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects and conducts staff conferences to keep department informed of current status of each project.

·   Consults with sales and customer representatives to discuss product specifications and customer complaints.

·   Assist in determining causes for problems encountered with new product development, new product production and eliminate new product rejections.

·   Oversee the preparation and make presentation to customers.



The right candidate for this position must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Food Technologist role and a Bachelors Degree

Must have knowledge of Japanese food and ingredients. Knowledge of Japanese language and culture highly desired.

Must have excellent professional food technology skills, ability to work under tight deadlines and be able to multitask.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite



Ajinomoto Frozen Foods periodically has openings for:

Production workers

Duties include:

    Load/unload frozen vegetables flour and other raw materials from pallets into machines, operate machines that perform mixing and rotating, etc, and doing various other tasks assisting in the manufacture process.  This job requires standing for long periods of time and exposure to both hot and freezing rooms.




Sanitation workers

Duties include:

    Using personal protective equipment, set up and tear down production equipment and perform specific cleaning  applications using chemicals and water.   Work is generally conducted at night when production is closed down.
