| Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in duties concerned with sanitation programs in food processing plant. |

- Monitors sanitation programs, SSOP’s, sanitation checklist of all processing, packaging equipment and cleaning systems.
- Computes manpower required for sanitation according to production schedules.
- Inspects equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and USDA standards.
- Trains, evaluates and directs sanitation crew in proper sanitation process, disassembling of equipment, cleaning and sanitation of production equipment and work areas.
- Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
- Ensures compliance with all company and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety and environmental standards. Enforces GMP’s and implements HACCP processes and procedures.
- Confers with manager and production supervisors on sanitation problems and recommends changes in work practices to improve sanitation standards when necessary.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations and processes taken to correct deficiencies.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve their work goals and to create good teamwork among sanitation workers.
Position has supervisory responsibilities over two lead persons and directly supervises a crew of 12 to 15 employees. Is responsible for the direction, Coordination, and evaluation of the crew. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, discipline and complaint resolutions.
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
